sunny
Today’s main activity was visiting Portsmouth. We went there after breakfast. First, we went inside HMS Victory. I saw a lot of cannons and rooms. The most interesting room is medical
room. It is under the surface, and protects patients from shelling and waves. I learned the place was very important. Second, we saw Mary Rose. It had sunk 500 years ago, and pulled out of the water about 100 years ago. I couldn’t believe that it retained its original form. The horrors of war surprised me. Third, I went to the museum of the battle of Trafalgar. There were many models of actual weapons that were used.
I learned a lot about wars and histories today. I think it is important for me to understand sad history, so today’s activities were amazing. (T.E)
This morning, I ate three apples, two oranges and a banana to recover from a cold.
Next I went to Portsmouth. There were a lot of old weapons. I thought the revolution of weapons was surprising. And I can see the strategy paper. It was interesting. Next I went to the victory. It was very old. The ship was too low to walk on. I wonder if old people’s height was low.
Next I saw Mary Rose. I can’t believe that Mary Rose was underwater for over 400 years. And I saw some things on the ship. The State was terrible. I can see the history of Mary Rose.
Next, in my free time, I walk on the ground. Mr. Koki, who is our navigator and Mr. Francs taught me the history. That was a nice learning experience. (R.O)
Today, we had a trip to Portsmouth. In the past, a lot of soldiers fought there. So we respected each other there. Especially he watched our actions. Also we experienced a lot of things.
First, we went to the HMS victory. We learned that when there was a naval battle, how marines lived there and Morse signals. A soldier’s last letters to their families were so impressive. Also I fully felt the importance of “pence”.
Second, we went on a ship named Victory. There are a lot of canons. A staff member said that they call it “guns”. Also he said that it needs ten people to control a normal one. Then, we got in a room to torture. The roof was so low. One of my friends said that they made the roof so as not to get away. I agreed with his idea.
Third, we went to the Museum called Mary Rose. We were able to look at a lot of tools that soldiers and marines used. However, there weren’t any metal parts. I’m not sure the reason. Regrettably we couldn’t watch the movie because of the running time. But we could do the shopping instead of watching it. We had a full day. (K.T)
